Topic #2: Family

Hey there! Today I’m gonna be touching the topic of family. Now we all have family; it may not always be a whole family, but we still have one. There are tons of verses in the Bible on family. One is Exodus 20:12 "Honor thy mother and father...” That verse is really cool because it goes on to say, “...so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.” This verse is the one of the 10 commandments. It’s the only commandment with a promise. Can you figure out what the promise is? If you can leave a comment below. Family is super important to me. Thanksgiving is one of the holidays that I give thanks for my family; not just my mom, dad, and brothers, but for my extended family.God gave us family so that we could be there for each other. If you keep things bottled in and don’t tell your parents, you’re not letting them be there for you. Families have to be trusting, loving, and they have to secure and know that whatever  each other says or does; they will always be loved and cared for. Ok!So don’t forget to tell me if you know what the promise is in the verse above! ALso let me know if you completed the challenge from yesterday! Todays challenge: be open and tell your family what you’re going through! Let me know how it goes!

Topic #1: Friends

Ok, so our first topic is friends...we all have them, but we don’t always know what to do about them. I know I’ve felt this way at one or another. When my friends get upset with me I don’t know what to do or how to act. The one person I know I can turn to is God. There are so many verses in the bible that tell us how we can be a good friend and what to do when we get in a fight or say something that hurt your friends feelings. One of my favorite verses about friends is John 15:13. It says, “Greater love has no one than this that one should lay down his life for his friends.” That verse says so much! If you didn’t quite understand what that verse meant, what it’s saying in a nut-shell is the greatest love is when you lay down you life for your friends. Now this doesn’t mean that the most important thing is to die for your friends, but what it is saying is that it’s super important to be there for them, stick up for them, and try to do everything that you can to protect them. I know that I try to protect my friends, and I hope that they would do the same for me. Now each day I will put up a challenge, and I want you to try and tackle it. This week’s challenge: Find one instant when you can stick up for someone you know. Now it doesn’t have to be a friend! It can be anybody!! Leave comments below on topics that you think would be good to discuss, and don’t forget to tell anyone you know about this blog! Who knows it may really help someone!!
